Denise will be sharing her wealth of knowledge on the
very timely subject of Phenology. Phenology is the
field of study that deals with cyclic and seasonal
natural phenomena, especially in relation to
climate, plant and animal life. How’s that for a weighty

Tim, who is a naturalist at The Cleveland Metro Parks,
will enlighten us about the interesting and intriguing world
of the bat—why we need them and the troubles they

We will once again enjoy learning a new project taught
by Bremec Nursery’s friendly and competent staff.

JUNE: “How to Prepare for a Flower Show”

SPEAKER:  The 90th Celebration Committee

In years gone by, The Town and Country Garden Club
put on formal juried Flower Shows. This year for our
90th celebration our members will be invited to enter
an arrangement in a non-stressful informal flower
show. A group of valiant members of our own club will
show us the do’s and don’ts when entering a flower show.

 

JULY: “The Town and Country Garden Club’s
90th Anniversary
Celebration and Cocktail Party”

AUGUST: “Beware of the Invasion”

SPEAKER: Becky Donaldson

This will be both a relaxing and informative
presentation. Becky will tell us all there is to know
about invasive plants in the area, plus much, much more.
You might even see a bald eagle.

 

SEPTEMBER: “TBA”

SPEAKER: Observatory Park Staff

We are travelling back to Observatory Park to see
their new telescope and to explore their grounds.
NOTE: Wear comfortable shoes..
 

 

OCTOBER: “All About the Medicine Man”

SPEAKER: Dr. Michael Maguire
Professor Emeritus, Department of Pharmacology
Case Western Reserve University

Dr. Maquire will share information about the Cherokee
Indians and their use of plants for medicinal purposes.

 

DECEMBER: “Holiday Greens Workshop”

Penny will help us craft some unique holiday
decorations. Get creative and get into the holiday spirit
with your fellow club members.
